Benefits & Expectations of Habitat Partner Families
What you will gain:

What you will commit:
- 500 volunteer hours, supporting the important fundraising role of ReStore and other Habitat Camrose initiatives.
- to help to publicize your participation in the program. Sharing your success helps promote Habitat Camrose so more families can be helped.
To qualify for a Habitat home, you must meet the following criteria:
NEED
- Your family could benefit from a simple, decent, affordable home
- Current housing must be substandard; either overcrowded, unsafe, in poor repair or high rent relative to your income
ABILITY TO PAY
- Your annual family income must fall within the low income range as determined by Habitat for Humanity Camrose, which is $40,000 to $62,000
- You must have a good credit rating and not have an overwhelming amount of debt (any bankruptcy has been discharged for at least 2 years)
- You are a citizen or permanent resident of Canada and have lived in Camrose or Camrose County for at least 1 year
WILLINGNESS TO PARTNER
- You are willing to help build your own home, the homes of other Habitat homeowners, and contribute to other Habitat programs through Volunteer Hours.
- You are willing to accept the responsibilities of homeownership, including insurance, taxes, utilites, maintenance, and other common homeowner expenses
- You are willing to participate in Habitat’s Homeownership Program which offers support and guidance in all aspects of homeownership
- You are willing to work towards building solid relationships with volunteers, donors, community members and neighbours as a Habitat homeowner

Families who are ready for the responsibility and challenges of home ownership, but would not qualify for a traditional mortgage, consider partnering with us! Habitat home owners receive financial education, help build their homes and pay a mortgage.
Application Process
1. Submit an initial application online or ask for a paper application at Camrose ReStore.
2. Family Services staff will contact you to discuss your application.
- If it appears like you are eligible, we will provide you with the next stage of the application package for you to complete.
- Family Services staff will explain the application forms to you and assist you with the application process if necessary.
3. Many factors are evaluated in selecting families including:
- the size of the family and the suitability of our homes
- gross combined household income, income-debt ratios; assets; previous money management issues for all adult family members
- family and employment stability
- current living situation
- determining those most in need
